The BMW International Open begins tomorrow at the Golfclub Munchen Eichenreid, where it is being held for the eighth year in a row. This famous German course is a 7,023 yard, par 72, which was designed by Kurt Rossknecht and will prove to be trying for the golfers in that it has water hazards on 10 of the holes. The weather looks good for the end of the week with temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees centigrade predicted for the four days of the championship.
The competition looks extremely competitive this year and last years champion Martin Keymer, who incidentally was the first German to win the competition, will have to fight off challenges from Rory McIlroy and world number 5, Henrik Stenson. Graeme tees off at 13:50 on Thursday alongside Dutchman, Robert-Jan Derksen and Scotsman, Scott Drummond, who was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the year in 2004. The trio will then tee off at the earlier time of 08:50 the following day.
